Courses

Challenge youself to be a better leader by taking the opportunity to go on our leadership courses. These five courses are designed to enrich you for a life of serving Jesus in leadership.

Three Day Courses

Introductory, Squad and Company Leadership Courses take place over a weekend, Friday night to Sunday afternoon.

Introductory Leadership

Year 8+ | Red Braid

Introductory Leadership is the first leadership course you can attend in BB. On this course you'll learn key leadership skills alongside other guys your age from BB Vic. After completing this course you'll have learnt how to work effectively with others, a skill that'll be further developed throughout your BB Leadership journey. You'll have learnt how you can take on more responsibilities in your company such as running games and teaching drill.

Squad Leadership

Year 9+ | Blue Braid

Squad Leadership - for current and prospective squad leaders - interactive discussions, practical exercises & the sharing of ideas and experiences with each other. It will cover how to be a more effective squad leader within your Company.

Interview techniques – Practical training for interview situations such as the BB Knowledge Badge Interview and job interviews. Squad Drill Advanced - teaching and taking Squad drill is a requirement for the BB Knowledge Badge, This is to hone in on your skills of drill taking.

Company Leadership

Year 10+ | Green Braid

Practical Company Planning and Leading – practical skills & approaches to planning and running programs (eg Badge class) Organising Events - coordinating and structuring interesting and safe squad events and special nights; as well as how to publicise events and your Company.Spiritual Development - understanding the basis of your faith, working on how you can explain and express your faith in order to run devotional and worship sessions.

Eight Day Courses

Team Leadership and Personal Development Courses go over eight days, from Saturday to Saturday in the school holidays.

Team Leadership

Year 10+ | White Braid

Team Leadership is the first Weeklong Leadership Course that you can attend. On this course you'll learn:

An understanding of leadership from a Christian perspective
Greater understanding and appreciation of yourself and others
Recognising your strengths and weaknesses and those within a group
Effective communication relating skills
Team building and working well as a team
Systematic problem solving
Effective goal setting and acheivement strategies

Personal Development

Year 11+ | Gold Braid

Personal Development is the highest Weeklong Leadership Course that you can attend. On this course you'll experience:

Practical tools to examine and lead your life
Exploration of what it means to live out an authentic and vibrant Christian faith
A three day solo experience to facilitate reflection and growth
Practical preparation and skills for the solo experience
Discussions on central topics such as shame, relationships and sexuality
Strategies for ongoing lifelong grwth and personal development
