The Queen's Badge


The Queen's Badge is the highest award in The Boys' Brigade and is highly respected in Brigade around the world. Boys' who have completed their Queen's Badge are called Queensman.
You recieve your Queen's Badge when you have completed the required badges, been to 3 weekend leadership courses (or 1x 5 day course), and you have your captains endorsement.
On the back of your Senior's Handbook there is a page where you can keep track of your badges.

Badge requirements
To be elligable to recieve your Queen's Badge you must have recieved the following badges:
- 3 One Year Silver Service Awards
- 6 month Service Badge
- BB Knowledge Badge (see below for more details)
- Citizenship (level 2)
- Scripture Knowledge (level 3)
- Community Service (Level 3) (see below for more details)
- 4 Levels from Skills Badges (Skills & Hobbies)
eg Skills (level 3) + Hobbies (level 1)
- 4 Levels from Outdoor Adventure Badges (Environmentalist & Expedition)
eg Environmentalist (level 4) + no expedition levels
- 4 Levels from Physical Badges (Physical & Sportsman)
eg Sportmans (level 2) + Physical (level 2)
+ 5 extra levels from any activity award (excluding BBK Award)
To get Community Service Level 3 your acitivities must be approved by the State.
The Queen's Badge assessor will oversee this.
Below are the steps you need to take to complete your Community Service Level 3:

Speak to your Captain (or revelent company coordinator) about completing your CSL 3
Download this form complete it and email it to the Queen's Badge Assessor

Wait for approval from the Queen's Badge Assessor before beginning your service.

Fill out the "Before Service" section of your CSL3 Diary

Complete your 15hrs of service, filling out your CSL3 Diary as you go

Finish your CSL3 diary, ensuring that it meets the word count requirement

Submit your CSL3 Diary to the Queen's Badge Assessor
Bb knowledge badge
There are three parts of your BBK Badge and you must be at least BB Age 16 to begin.

Drill Assessment
You will be assessed on your ability to teach a squad of boys on any part of drill up to the end of chapter 6 in the BBA Drill manual. Head to the resources page to download the manual and the latest supplement.

Interview
You will have an interview where you'll be asked a range of questions about Boys' Brigade Knowledge as well as various other questions about BB and leadership. The aim of this interview is to ensure that you will be a good ambasador for BB. For more infor about this interview, please look at the Queens' Badge Handbook.

Project
You will need to complete a project about Boys' Brigade of 2000 words or equivalent effort.
This project will be overseen by the Queens' Badge assessor.
